Thanar

This story takes place on the planet Thanar, in which magic is commonplace and non-human races live alongside humans. Science and magic coexist in this world, technological advances being driven by both equally. The Universe is an all-knowing, semi-sentient entity that has recreated itself to birth this particular reality. It created the Blight, a similarly semi-sentient magical energy, to assist it in creating and maintaining entities within itself. The Blight is a powerful magic held within the souls of angels and their children (originally born directly from the Blight) and credited with the evolution and mutation of many homogenous species. Thanar is broken up into three interwoven planes: Enokh, comprised of Paradise, or Lyar'el, and Sheol, the Otherworld, also known as Faerbhali, and the human realm known simply as Thanar.   As angels fought amongst themselves and their Fallen evolved, so did hominins, until ultimately the two groups collided and their cultures left fundamentally intertwined. Holy angels' self-righteous view on their war against their dark-winged children, devils, is particularly prominent in the modern world's culture.
