What Earl Dante Knows

Earl Dante, leader of Dawnsgrasp, lead a mission to close a gate to a demonic world that connected the dark lord's power. The mission was a success in that they closed the gate, but it was an ambush. Demonic forces were lying in wait for them. The ambush was so bold as to allow the gate to be closed. Dante was about to die alongside his few remaining men when the curse struck and teleported them away. Whilst He does not know the identity of the dark lord, or the dark lord's fate any more than the party, he does suspect that the dark lord had revealed the portal's existence only to lure forces away from the main battle and prevent reinforcements from reaching the battlefield at a crucial point. Had it not been for Es’ante’s valiant strike at the dark lord himself then the battle may have been lost. Dante also suspects that this was not the only gate as the ambushers would not have allowed them to close it so easily if it was their only connection to the source of the dark lord's power.
