A fictional book of the tales of a great trader who earned his fortune following the will of Moquel and remaining faithful to him. What makes this book holy is the author who is the Great Sultan of Al-Jazarad. He is believed to have been an avatar of Moquel, or at the very least an aspect of him.
The Scrolls of Gold

These scrolls are a set of orders made by Moquel which outlines the general rules of The Great Competition as well as how to remain in his good graces. Things such as monopolies and extortion are strictly forbidden, as well as collusion to manipulate The Great Competition.

There are many ways one can acquire wealth, but mercantilism is highest among all else. To trade and conduct business is to enrich not only yourself but the whole of the community as well.
Increasing general prosperity brings happiness to the intelligent folk.

When conducting trade you increase the prosperity of all in the area. The flow of money and goods allows others to make use of the new capital and increase the overall status of the realm. Those who are able to capitalize on the new found prosperity and among the intelligent and will find joy.

- A week-long festival held in the cities of the faithful. Money is freely spent during this time to increase the flow of coins and therefore The Great Competition. Traders from all over will travel to these festivals as they are almost always cleaned out and left a great deal wealthier.

Every 6 years on the Summer Solstice to Fall Equinox

Trade and travel go hand in hand. On the Eve of the solstice the most devoted of Moquel pack their bags with their most valuable belongings, and the necessary supplies. The things they can't pack they will sell. Once all is prepared they head out on a long journey of trade and discovery. The traveler will spend their time trying to sell and trade their valuables in order to acquire more money and capital. On the day of the equinox they return home, those who make a profit are believed to have the favor of moquel, and those who make double their money are seen as some of the most favored of Moquel’s followers. While those who make no profit or break even are believed to have fallen out of favor with Moquel and therefore must undertake penece of be forever barred from passing to the Great Bazaar upon death.
