Draph (Der-aff, Do-raf)
Draph Race Details
Draph are a race from the Granblue Fantasy universe.
TLDR: They're cow themed Dwarves. No natural weapons. No Darkvision. They have the Powerful Build trait ala a Goliath. +2 and +1 to Str and Con, players choice which, if doing it PHB style. Tools and other skill traits is more an influence of where they grew up then a racial culture. If they come from a native Draph or Dwarf settlement, smithing and masonry would be common tool proficiencies, and Athletics or Intimidation a common skill.
Draph resemble humans but with ears and horns resembling those of cow or sheep. Draph are noted for their sexual dimorphism; 'Male' Draph average at about 7-8 feet tall, while 'female' Draph average about top 4 - 5 feet tall. Draph, both male and female, are known for their strength and hardiness. Draph enter puberty at an early age, however they do not become sexually mature until their teens. Draph have true horns that grow throughout their life. The exact shape can vary from individual to individual but the shape does seem to be roughly hereditary in nature. A Draph's horns are not suited for combat.
It is common to see Draph just about anywhere civilization exists, and while their are cultural differences between the races, most Draph would see themselves as members of their country first, and 'Draph' second. Majority Draph kingdoms do exist, but other races make up significant amounts of their population.
Naming traditions are one of the few cultural artifacts that seem to have passed down, regardless of country. Draph names favor repetition of 'Ah' vowels, especially on the first and last syllable. Male Draph names also favor voiced consonant sounds.
Male Names: Bakura, Barawa, Galadar, Garama, Vanaza, Vaseraga, Zaja
Female Names: Aliza, Almeida, Daetta, Danua, Karva, Lamretta, Narmaya
Draph tend to favor physical roles as opposed to magic, although this is not universal. Draph combat styles favor hand to hand techniques, or oversized weapons, making use of their brawn and endurance. Draph seem to be magically inclined toward Earth and Fire. Example: A Draph has been known for prowess as a blacksmith and a mage, and utilizes a fighting style that combines magic and their powerful physique. Draphs are also known to be fond of drinking.
