The Kraken
The Kraken of Earth Myth began as the Kraken of Aerth Reality. Seakin tamed and trained these as heavy war-beasts when occasion required it, but usually the Kraken were peacefully feeding and digesting in the far northern sea.
Earth Swedish author Jacob Wallenberg (1781) described the Kraken's size as less than 16km, and it stays on the sea floor "constantly surrounded by innumerable small fishes, who serve as his food and are fed by him in return".
A single meal of the Kraken is said to take up most of the year since it will feed on the small fish for three months and then take three more months to digest them all. The Kraken's excrement nurture the following army of lesser fish. Fishermen plumb after this resting place because of this abundance.
When the Kraken finally ascends to the surface, all boats are counselled to move out of vicinity. It will surface spurting water from dreadful nostrils and making mile-wide ring waves.

Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The Kraken's bright eyes, though they allow many fish in the area to see a great distance, are not able to see further than a fathom. Most of the Kraken's "vision" is sensory - feeling the sounds and vibrations of other creatures through the water.
Conservation Status
Aquae Magna Pranda saw the disaster the human war ships were wreaking on her darling Kraken and snuck the final two into the Earth waters where they became the stuff of legend. Magna Pranda's attempts at conservation did not last long since the gender of the two saved creatures did not allow for reproduction. The gender of a Kraken has always remained a mystery, even to the Magnas, until said beast gives birth. These did not.
