Tippend Agreement
Trolls normally kept to themselves. Travelling around inside the Alandalan mountains and making little pockets in the mountain to store their treasures and homes. They required nothing beyond the mountain. They were half stone. The mountain was pure stone. It was all they needed.
Then the Humans came. To be fair, the poor humans had been on a search for someplace liveable for 40 years. They'd been wandering southward through the Alandalan Mountains, the Evermountains, and hadn't found a valley or plain suitable for their settling needs. The Evermountains are exactly how they were named, they go on forEVER seemingly and the poor Humans were beginning to think they'd never find a home.
Why they left their northern foothills in the first place to wander the mountains endlessly is another question for another time.
Then they found the long valley.
It was perfect. It was long, sure. It was slim, unfortunately, but there was dirt here! Look! Grass! Of a sort. The Humans set about settling the long valley. Tippend, they named it since it appeared to be the end of their trip. If they had known a whole land of fields, lakes and lush valleys was only a short journey beyond Tippend, who knows if the war would have ever happened.
The Tippendians delved into the mountains surrounding their valley. They mined, and mined, and mined. They also, apparently, destroyed several Troll homes along the way, marvelling at the gems and carven statues they found in the Caves. Their mining grew more fervent to find more of these treasure pockets.
Of course, the Trolls had a problem with this theft. Humans were like rats, gnawing holes in their walls and devouring their furniture. The Trolls set about ridding their mountain of the rats. The Humans, well, they didn't like being told "No!".
Historical Details
Public Reaction
The Human Miners agreed but continued doing exactly what they agreed not to do. Trolls, after all, had all the really good gems already in their homes.
The Trolls appreciated the gesture but were enraged when the miners ignored it and stole their stuff anyway. They gathered their numbers and completely destroyed the homes of the Tippendians. Tippend became a "ghost" kingdom.
