The Havenwood
Before The Ander Vale spread out to the entire Vale, it only inhabitated The Havenwood. Their first settlement was Havenwood, and the tiny nation prospered. A phenomenon lost to history occured that caused the entire city to fall into decay, killing everything around it. Slowly, this decay spread out, consuming everything it in's path. Locals came to call it "The Line of Decay."
They moved Havenwood to the other side of the forest, leaving Old Havenwood behind to rot.
The line is still moving, but so slowly that everyone see's it as tomorrow's problem.
Unfortuantly, it's tomorrow.
Geography
The Havenwood is a dense forest with old, towering redwood trees. Nestled inside of the forest is Havenwood, a bustling city.
There is a line known as The Line of Decay. This line divided Havenwood and Old Havenwood. Science hasn't been able to explain why it exists beyond seeing its deveistating effect. It kills anything that crosses the line, turning the entire area into a deadlands. This line moves an infinitismal amount every year, normally.
There are two small rivers in The Havenwood. One has been dried when teh Line of Decay consumed it. The other river is still active, only a mile from the new Havenwood Town. Without that river, the town has no water access, which means they would have to abandon the town all together or find a way to revitalize the rivers.
Fauna & Flora
The dead part of the forest is completely bare of any animals and growth. The live part is dense with thick redwood trees, various types of deer, rabbits, foxes, bears, and other woodland creatures. Teric Spiders, a creature unique to The Ander Vale, also call this forest home.
Natural Resources
Wood from the forest, though Havenwood is under strict protection due to the Line of Decay.
Fish can be hunted for in the rivers.
There is other large and small game within the forest. The locals in the town of Havenwood use every part of the animal, making sure none goes to waste.
