His first spouse, Amethyst Opal, tragically passed away during childbirth, giving life to their firstborn, Crown Princess Melanite. Princess Ruby Moonstone is the youngest child of King Obsidian and therefore has no shot at the throne. Something she is grateful for, she’s seen how hates the pressure of being the Crown Princess. How much she’s just dreading her own wedding, a day that should be one of the happiest. Ruby doesn’t want that for herself. She’s too much of a rebel for the throne.
