Grave Dust
Grave Dust is a highly addictive necrotic narcotic derived from Vampire Fingers, an Antarctic Mushroom.
MANUFACTURE - Vampire Fingers are harvested, enchanted, dried, and ground into a fine grey powder, thus the name. As an inert powder, Grave Dust is stored & transported.
USE - The drug is activated by heating the powder until it liquefies creating a salve, which is applied to a patch of skin and absorbed through osmosis. An average dose is approximately one teaspoon, commonly called "A Spoonful."
EFFECTS - Upon application the user automatically takes 1-D10 Necrotic Damage; no save. Instantaneously the user's body counteracts this damage by expending enormous amounts of energy, making the user appear frantic, and jittery; the user sees life in bullet-time, as their mind is firing at an exponentially faster rate than normal. These effects last approximately four hours when using an average dose.
SIDE EFFECTS - The user's energy is severely depleted by Grave Dust, leaving the user exhausted, and starving, commonly called "Zombified," as they sober. The exhaustion lasts 1-D4 hours, no save, and the starvation lasts until a full meal is ingested and digested.
While users claim to be stronger on Grave Dust, the obverse is true; addicts take disadvantage on all Attacks and Saving Throws while sober.
The patch of skin to which Grave Dust was applied becomes discolored to a grayish-black for 1-D6 days; continued application in the same location can lead to permanent nerve damage, scarring, and eventual organ damage and failure.
Grave Dust can be fatal to the user.
RECOVERY - At this time, there is no known way to cure an addiction to Grave Dust.
