Father Asellius is the high clergyman of the sect of Celaeno within the Church of Auredain although he often stresses that their faith is independent of the church. He is nominal ruler of the Ladyshrine domain making the Lady's Cult the only faith organization that actually holds title to their land and rights to the income. He is an open and gregarious individual who tries to spread the wonder of Celaeno through quiet conversation and oak-like support for those who fight against the darkness.

The companions traveled to Ladyshrine to inquire about the myths surrounding the Lady of the Lake especially in regards to blessed swords that are part and parcel of her myth. Intrigued by the tale told to them by Faelias of Turtle Beach and his former son-in-law, Brother Prospit spoke at length with Father Asellius about the role that gifted blades played in the faith's history. At the end of their conversation, Father Asellius gifted the cleric with blessed water from the Lady's font in furtherance of their adventures.
