Haraz Thun

Great Dwarven Vault-City, Presumed Destroyed

A legendary Duergar vault-city that were once allies of Aendor and its sub-kingdoms. The dwarves of HARAZ THUN, like so many other vault dwarves, sought safety in security and rock walls. The dwarves of Haraz Thun bolstered the fighting efforts of the Aendorian militants against the initial waves from the The Taking. When it became clear that the wave of beastmen would not and could not be stopped the dwarves of Haraz Thun were ordered to return to their vault as their King had ordered the doors closed. The Haraz Thun contingent initially began an orderly retreat from the battlefield. This unit action allegedly lasted no more than a minute before the entire troop of hard-bitten axe warriors were singing their funeral songs and fighting alongside the last defenders of Aendor.

It was recorded later that not a single Harazi Duergar survived the constant onslaught and that all of them perished with hands still gripping their axe hafts. Whether this story is apocryphal is unknown as, an unintended consequence of all Haraz Thun natives on the surface perishing, was that there very few non-dwarven survivors of the slaughter that knew the way to find the vault-city once again.

It was rumored to be more north of Auredain. No one knows for sure. But we do know that no citizen of that vault has been seen alive or outside since the last days of the Taking.
