Ixalias the Black

Dreaded and revered, IXALIAS THE BLACK is the idol most prevalent in the workshops and dank laboratories of dweomercrafters and spellworkers. He is sometimes considered the patron of magi and any who call upon the arcane, those who delve where mortals should fear to tread in search of power and rewards—he is the embodiment of the price of power and the sacrifices that must be made in pursuit of one’s ambition.

He is the personification of ambition realized, of power grasped and the price that such dreams may exact from the seeker. He is both hero and warning; the warmth of the fire and burning of one’s fingers, the flash of the blade and the blood spilled in order to master it—IXALIAS THE BLACK is feared and admired by many but rarely in public.

Under that authority, he is whispered to in the prayers of 2nd children in nervous requests for ‘hunting accidents’, of men and women alike who seek more than their current station. It is said, however, that he looks favorably only upon those who are willing to seek out their life’s ambition and pay any price in its pursuit.

He is the personification of ambition and its attainment. His scarred and twisted form is rarely reflected although each deformation is an honor-marks of the sacrifices that he made to achieve his goal. And achieve it Ixalias did, it is said that first he sought to master the Arts Arcana beyond all others and so he looks with a cunning smile on those who seek power through such means. But in becoming the Magus Penultimate, IXALIAS was not satisfied and set his sights even higher. And it is his struggles, sacrifices, and ruthlessness that it is said he exemplified on the path to achieving his true ambition—that of divinity itself.

He has no established clergy. It is rumored that those who follow him are often those who have failed to grasp the Powers Arcane and seek it through him. Such souls must be desperate indeed...

He lives at the in-between of realms between being accorded the honor of a VIGIL and also standing apart on the periphery of the Chaos beyond the Real.

IXALIAS is lord of ambition, mastery of the arcane, amorality, ruthlessness, power sought and milestones met regardless of the cost. It should be noted that IXALIAS is only called upon in pursuit of goals that primarily benefit the seeker. A charitable or generous ambition is of little interest to IXALIAS--he favors those who seek to grasp the world personally.
