King of the Pirates

The King of the Pirates is a special title bestowed upon the ruler of the Red Scarves. It is a version of the Alpha King but with rogue werewolves. As the leader, the King of the Pirates must keep every member of the Red Scarves on a tight leash, ensuring that betrayal does not occur.
I didn't become the King of the Pirates for the infamous glory. No, I desire the chance to give my mate everything she deserves. Being a lowly Hunter got me nowhere. Jóra is everything to me and her happiness is all I crave.
— Guðþór King

Qualifications

The King of the Pirates must be a strong, independent werewolf who hasn't lost a battle. Of course, they must also be a rogue with intelligence. Anyone trying to take over the position of the King of the Pirates must have an intelligence that rivals a General, capable of making battle strategies on the fly and pulling off heists or takeovers with barely a problem. Gender is not a problem when becoming the King of the Pirates. If a female, nonbinary, genderfluid, etc. person takes up the mantle, they are still called the King of the Pirates unless they state otherwise.

Appointment

When a new King of the Pirates is announced, there isn't much of a ceremony. The dead body of the former king is sent down to the morgue while the crew celebrates their new leader with a party. During this time, the new King can select a Beta, or second-in-command to keep an eye out for dangerous threats, such as assassinations.

Duties

The King is able to rule over dozens of rogue packs connected to the Red Scarves. In the meantime, the King must produce an heir, whether through his mate or a concubine. The heir must be raised with the thought of becoming the next King.   In the event that the King dies prior to a new King being announced, such as an heir or through a Death Trial, the title of King passes down to the Beta.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The Death Trial is the most respected way to remove a King of the Pirates from power. It has a similar power as an Alpha Challenge, except that the King has the power to call upon many loyalists within the pack to stand before him and the instigator. It ensures corruption does not take over by weakening his opponent and proving a point that the challenger is too unfit for the position as King of the Pirates.   Assassination attempts can be made on the King instead, but proving one's power to overthrow the King of the Pirates through sneaky means is rarely seen as respectable unless the King of the Pirates was a true tyrant, even to his people.
