The Vault of the Dratchi tablets

You walk down bare, sandy stone steps into a dim basement. Your heels clack with a startling resonance that reverberates around the ribbed vaulting of this bare chamber, mingling with the echoes of water droplets plummeting off the damp walls. You weave your way through row apon row of pillars, the meagre light of your candle the only thing standing between you and the darkness of the stony forest beyond. As you progress, the uncomfortable humidity is withered by a choking dryness. You now see a glimmer of light at the other end of the passage, and as you draw closer, you notice that it is a doorway, with torchlight dancing on the stone beyond. At the end of this new passage, you are met by 2 hulking guard golems who stand aside to reveal an iron vault door. The key grates in the lock, and delicate flakes of rust flutter to the ground when the doors creak open. What you see inside dazzles you after the long, foreboding passages: a spectacular chamber, the walls adorned with ancient mosaics and glyphs depicting historical scenes. The vault is spacious and light, courtesy of a glowing white orb suspended in a crystal globe hanging on a rusty chain from the ceiling, casting bright light across the room, and shadows sleep silent and unstirring between the shelves that hold the legendary Dratchi Tablets.
