Ïorreg's Fall

Harmony with Nature

Ïorreg's Fall is one of the most beautiful parts of the Southern Brambles. This otherwise desolate swampland holds some gorgeous sights, one of which being this rare stream of water. Descending from Corr's Rage and landing in the lake of Corra's Landing, it is a waterfall not to be missed.

The fall is approximately 10 Branch lengths (about 1 mile) high. The water from the river Fillïa comes from the Arengold Tree itself, and flows all the way to the center of The Vault, where the Mistakes are able to eat and drink from it.

The falls occur about halfway through the Brambles and the river alike. This minor halt keeps the freshwater fish from the northern Fillïa river from coming into contact with the deepest parts of the Brambles, where most of the dangerous creatures live. These northern fish are much smaller and tame than their southern counterparts, which must be quick and even dangerous to fight for survival.

The falls are not as much of a tourist attraction as The Grippli of the Southern Gnarls would like. Sadly, there are just too many deadly predators that are constantly near this fantastic water source to make it a safe place. The Grippli do try to clear the area before groups get there, to show that the Gnarls are in good hands. But, there are always accidents, enough to scare all but the hardiest adventurers away from the legitimately breathtaking falls.

Geography

The fall itself is located on a sheer cliff, known as Corr's Rage. The name comes from a Human man, Corr, who lost their spouse over the side of this cliff. Corr went on a short but complete rampage, killing many different creatures before dying of exhaustion.

Ecosystem

This massive waterfall lands in a small lake, known as Corra's Landing. This name comes from the woman who fell off of this cliff and died within the waters. The lake is home to almost every species of fish in the Southern Gnarls; predators and prey alike. It is also home to all sorts of land predators and prey, who use this lake as a home. Only the largest and most dangerous of animals can stake a place here for an extended period of time.

Ecosystem Cycles

The ecosystem only drastically changes in the Snow months. The flowing water keeps the lake alive, and thus all fish stay in its waters. The animals tend to hibernate closeby, under trees and within the caves of Corr's Rage.

Dwarves come irregularly to the lake to hunt for game and for their Inner Artist ritual. They know how to hunt in every season, so rarely do the animal's movements change their perspective.

Localized Phenomena

The waterfall is said to improve the time it takes to perform the Creativity Ritual by several days, as it has a direct connection to Filli. Very rarely is a ritual able to be held, however, as the waterfall itself is very dangerous.

History

Corr and Corra viewed this waterfall near the beginning of the Elf-Human war, around 2300 PW. They were free humans when they died. The Grippli reported the information back to Elves, and the Elves helped to name the waterfall.
