The Lost Tribe of Nivv
Sunshine. Anything to report?
Yes, actually.
Oh really? What is it?
What is the name of the village to the southeast of the Capital?
You'll have to be more specific, Ju'Fenni. A village. Abandoned. Did not find a single soul or body.
It was probably a dwarven hunting outpost. Pay it no mind.
Sir, it was dangerously close to the Capital. If that was the case, we must talk to Dumgarth about the safest distance to our city.
Sounds like a bother. Pay it no mind. That's an order.
Yes warpriest... Though, I would like to report on the size of the buildings. They seemed applicable for Gnomes.
Gnomes are allowed to live close to the capital, Warhunter.
Understood, Warpriest. I will leave you to your sunbath.
You are too kind. -Ju'Fenni, Elven Warhunter, and Var, Elven Warpriest.
Nivv
Nivv was a failed experimental city by Gnomish inventors. The tribe was populated entirely by 40 Barkskin Robots, humanoid constructs made from the Arengold Tree and powered by Ïllume's sunshine. While in the Gnomish tribe, they showed incredible intelligence and even the ability to speak full sentences of different ideas.Within the first few days, the Gnomish inventors realized that the constructs did not have the level of sentience required to persue anything more than waiting and watching the sun. They would leave their homes and stare at the celestial body until their programming told them it was time to "sleep."
Within the first two weeks, the Barkskin Robots would no longer sleep. They would instead stare at Jörreg's moon. The Gnomes could not figure out a way to reprogram the Barkskin Robots without ruining their perceived sentience. And the Gnomes were a bit too stubborn to forcefully change the Robots. So, they simply allowed their experiment to continue.
When a month had passed, the Robots vanished. They did not leave a trail, there was no magical aura left behind. It was as if the constructs never existed.
Pal Lumas, the Barkskin's inventor, never truly recovered from his disappointment. He spent the rest of his days sleeping, dreaming of where his genius invention went.
