Tribebuilder

A Grand Display of Passion, Diligence, and Optimism

The Tribebuilder is awarded to a member of a community that has shown themselves to be useful to every single member of the tribe. They are passionate individuals who have influenced most, if not all, of the tribe that they live in. Their Chieftains agree that they move their group in the right direction, and their family are both respectful and grateful for their presence.
In most tribes, the Tribebuilder title is awarded in the following way;
  1. A member of the tribe nominates the Tribebuilder. This nomination is brought up to the Chieftain. The tribe member solidifies their nomination by providing a Canvas. This canvas is based on the tribe's favorite method of creating art, such as a vast paper, a moldable metal or clay for a sculpture, etc. This canvas is custom-built by the nominator and the Chieftain to ensure that the entire tribe can work on it if needed.
  2. The tribe members that believe that the Tribebuilder has earned their title will go to the Tribebuilder nomination and provide about 20 to 30 minutes of work on the Canvas. They are not allowed to make significant progress on the work of art.
  3. Once the Canvas has a completed work of art that the tribe agrees is sufficient, the Tribebuilder is given the work as a showmanship of the Tribe's respect.
Tribebuilders in Other Tribes
This title is not universal. Other tribes may have similarly rewarded titles for different things. For instance, a highly militant Dwarf tribe might use a Tribe Canvas as an award for an extremely good battle. Or a tyrannical Hobgoblin tribe might use a Tribe Canvas to reward a particularly effective law.
That being said, almost all tribes respect Tribebuilders as good diplomats and honest people. This is occasionally advantageous for malicious tribes, who bend the kindness of a Tribebuilder to their own advantage. Often, though, the Tribebuilder is not to be trifled with; the Filli and the gods often grant Tribebuilders some level of Heroic strength as a reward for their service.

The Tribebuilder's Duty
A Tribebuilder does not rest after earning their title. It is expected for a Tribebuilder to continue their work after earning their title. Most Tribebuilders will eventually be rewarded by becoming the Chieftain, but this may be a long and arduous process.
The effort behind a Tribebuilder title is massive; large and small communities alike take the role very seriously, and find any who ask for a nomination distasteful. Many different tribebuilders across history would become great brokers of peace and trusted to change the Arengold Forest into something new and grand to live in.
