Symbol: Thumos' symbol is a pair of scales, representing the balance of life and death.       The Space In Between General Concept: The Space In Between is a neutral, ethereal realm where souls are judged upon death. It serves as a transitional space between the mortal world and their ultimate fate in the Celestial Rings or the Rings of Hell. This realm is a place of profound stillness and reflection, where the soul's true nature is revealed and weighed.       Environment Description: A vast, surreal landscape of floating islands and pathways made of light and shadow. The skies shift between twilight hues of deep blues and purples, and the air is filled with a sense of profound calm and gravity. Atmosphere: The realm has a serene, almost sacred atmosphere, imbued with the feeling of impending destiny. Soft, ambient sounds of chimes and whispers of past lives can be heard, adding to the mystical environment. The Scales of Life     Location: At the center of this realm lies the Hall of Judgment, a grand structure made of ethereal marble and crystal. Inside, the Scales of Life are prominently displayed.   Function: The Scales of Life are a divine artifact used by Thumos to weigh the deeds, thoughts, and essence of each soul. The scales balance light and darkness, truth and falsehood, virtue and vice.     Thumos, God of Travel, Life, and Death Appearance: Thumos is a majestic figure, radiating both authority and compassion. He appears as an imposing figure robed in white and gold, with an aura of shifting seasons and cycles.   Role: Thumos oversees the judgment process. He stands beside the Scales of Life, carefully considering the merits and flaws of each soul. His decisions are final and guided by divine insight. Guides of the Judgment He Who Rises: Appearance: An awe-inspiring aasimar with radiant wings and gleaming plate armor, shining like a beacon of hope and purity. Role: When a soul is deemed worthy to ascend, He Who Rises appears, lifting the soul with his divine presence and escorting them to the Celestial Rings. His arrival is accompanied by a harmonious chorus and a brilliant light. He Who Remains: Appearance: A formidable dragonborn paladin clad in black armor, with a demonic appearance. His presence exudes authority and a chilling calm. Role: When a soul is condemned to descend, He Who Remains, the first paladin of Thumos, emerges to escort the soul to the Rings of Hell. Even in death, he serves his god with unwavering loyalty. He carries a massive sword on his back, symbolizing his role as a guardian and enforcer. Judgment Process Arrival of the Soul: Upon death, the soul is transported to The Space In Between, appearing before the Hall of Judgment. Reflection: The soul experiences a moment of introspection, seeing visions of their life, both their noble deeds and their sins. Weighing on the Scales: Thumos places the soul’s essence on the Scales of Life, watching as it balances or tips. Judgment: Based on the balance, Thumos decrees the soul's fate: Ascension: If worthy, He Who Rises appears to guide the soul to the Celestial Rings. Descent: If condemned, He Who Remains takes the soul down to the Rings of Hell. Additional Features Pathways of Fate: Ethereal pathways connect the Hall of Judgment to various parts of the realm, symbolizing the different possible destinies of souls. Echoes of Existence: Whispers of past judgments and the echoes of past lives linger in the air, serving as reminders of the realm's purpose. Guardian Spirits: Ethereal beings patrol the realm, ensuring that no soul attempts to escape judgment or interfere with the process.

Appearance: Thumos is a towering figure, standing over 10 feet tall with a muscular build. He has piercing blue eyes and his hair is long and white. His skin is a pale grey and he wears a long white robe that shimmers in the light. He carries a large staff made of bone and topped with a glowing crystal.

Motivation

Personality: Thumos is an enigmatic deity who rarely speaks unless it is absolutely necessary. He is neither good nor evil, but rather seeks to maintain balance in all things. He is patient, calm, and methodical, taking a long-term view of events rather than reacting impulsively. He is known for his wisdom, and those who seek his counsel are said to come away with a deeper understanding of the world.     Abilities: Thumos is the god of life and death, and as such has control over both. He can heal the sick and wounded with a touch, or take the life of anyone he chooses. He is also capable of resurrecting the dead, but only if it is necessary to maintain the balance of the world. He is immune to disease and poison, and cannot be killed by mortal means.

Follower: Thumos' followers are a diverse group, including healers, necromancers, and those who seek to maintain balance in all things. They are often quiet and introspective, and seek to understand the world around them. Thumos does not demand worship, but those who do worship him are expected to live their lives in a way that maintains balance.   Temple: Thumos' temple is a large, circular structure with a central altar surrounded by smaller altars representing different aspects of life and death. The temple is staffed by healers and necromancers who seek to maintain balance in the world.
