5 - Dry

It all began with a little crack in the stone. A tiny patch of dirt. Just enough for the seedling to push through. Surrounding it were some old ruins, from a time long since past. The flower didn't mind, it had sunlight and the occasional rain. It was a rainy part of the world after all.

The days came and went, and the flower didn't do much. A few squirrels, some deer. A highlight was an owlbear that wandered by. But overall, the flower was happy to live its life in the little crack in the stone.

Everything changed when they arrived. They shouted and yelled at something, and one pointed his wand at the monster. A great ball of flame erupted from it, and crashed into the ruined stone wall above the flower. The heat from the fireball sucked the moisture from it, and a piece of debris landed just above the flower. Not enough to squish it, but it blocked the rain.

As the days kept going by, the flower wilted. Without sunlight or rain, it started to die. But eventually, a nice wood elf appeared. She removed the debris from the flower, then poured a bit of water on it. That was the last the flower saw of the elf girl, but the flower was happy again.
