"...The farmer wipes his sweaty brow, lowers his head in exhaustion. He wonders to himself how much longer he can carry on. A grieving mother howls with pain and buries her head in her hands, her child taken from her too soon. How can she continue on with this life? ...It is not uncommon to suffer while we make our ascension, and during those times of suffering we reach out to brace ourselves. And every time we need that assistance our hands meet the solid reassurance of the railing.
Where did this railing come from you may ask yourself?
It is by the will of the Wrights that it is here. It stretches ever upward guiding you on your ascension and providing you relief when your mortal bones struggle to take another step. The railing is our scripture. The Articulation that binds us. The railing is the love that we bestow on you. With that love, you are empowered with the will to raise your weary head, harvest our land, and feed your neighbor. It is a love that will give you the power to raise your head from your grieving hands and live for those who have fallen, and even strive to create new life.
But the scriptures need support. They need learned pillars of the community to raise them high in order to meet the demands of those making The Ascension. They need Balusters, men and women educated in our sacred texts that can join you with your neighbor in the Articulation and guide you up The Great Steps to Their love and embrace.
I've heard troubling rumors about your village. About covetous liars and thieves. And now that I'm here I see tired, weary faces hung low with the burden of guilt. It is clear to me, you need to be reminded of the relief our love and guidance can give you. I have brought with me several Balusters that are eager to hear your sins and the sins your neighbors are too afraid to offer up. Confess it unto them for they are molded by The Articulation to bear the weight of these transgressions. And I assure you that when you relieve yourself of your guilt and shame you will find yourself renewed and reinvigorated. Ready to climb higher than you thought imaginable.
In this special circumstance I bring these Balusters so that they may reach out to you, in hopes that you remember that you can always reach out to them."

Balusters are indoctrinated men and women who spread and uphold the religious teachings of the Structuralists They are technically the lowest official rank of this institution but no less vital to the dissemination of its ideological concepts.

Qualifications

Balusters must go through a training regimen in which they learn the teachings and fundamental precepts of the Structuralist's primary doctrine - The Articulation. Humanity is joined spiritually by The Articulation and it is through our behavior and our societal structure that we can further our Ascension up The Great Stairs.

Responsibilities

Holding service for the community on the Holy Day, of each week. Being aware of the general goings on of your congregation and providing spiritual guidance. Be available and encourage confessions whether it be their sins or their neighbors so that you can better aid the community.

Benefits

The community in which a Baluster resides in is obligated to provide for them. It is common for certain members of the community to take on the responsibility of providing meals. Their home is built for them and tended to by the community so that they can focus on the Scriptures and providing guidance to their people.
