The Origin of Zook Bafflestone's Ideas

The rumors are true for the most part in concerns to the products sold by Stone Industries were not Bafflestone creations but that of understudies under contract and forced into silence.    In the course of the game and the time within The Artifactorium, there will be journals and hints to this fact written by the young artificers who had their ideas stolen and co-opted into the myth of Zook Bafflestone. Also, if there are players with proficiency in History or trained in a similar ability then they should be given a chance to remember or have heard about the rumor and then have that corroborated by the items found within The Artifactorium.
Shortly after the tenth annual Stone industries symposium within The Artifactorium, the first whispers of a rumor began to circulate. The gist of the rumor was that many of the new Stone Industry products were reminiscent of or directly comparable to designs of up and coming Artificers and artificer students who were new hires or later hired by Stone Industries. This rumor stood in direct conflict with the company line that all new products and services brought to you by Stone Industries were either directly or indirectly imagined by, created by, or designed by Zook Bafflestone himself.    As time went on and more promising Artificers disappeared into the daily grind that was the Stone Industries Desylum, the rumors became more insistent and widespread causing Stone INdustires to start production on many of the Zook Bafflestone histories and how-to guides published soon after.

Cultural Reception

By the time of Zook Bafflestone's announced passing by Stone industries, he was seen as a bright light in the world of Artificery and the general Gnomish population as well as being one of the first truly transcendent gnomes to be seen as a champion of Artificery among the other races. Once these rumors made it to a more widespread audience they were considered apocryphal and many felt like the rumors were spread simply to diminish Zook Bafflestone after his death and thereby damaging his company as well.
