Flow-Weave

The flow-weave is the magical essence that imbues all of life and air within the Ashen Lands. Any magic user must call upon it, connect, and draw within it to perform their spells or incantations. The flow-weave is governed outsidfe time and space, and no one is quite sure who presides over it within the celestial planes.
While magic is widely known throughout the land, the introduction of Starrite into the Ashen Land's history and economy came with a cost. Its ability to create havoc and legends has not come without a cost to magic users. The deadly use of it quickly led to a stigmatization of magic users among common folk, fearful any moment their entire life may be destroyed by a rogue novice. Yet in the halls of the noble, rich, and aristocracy, magic quickly became a status symbol owing to the luxury that Starrite implicated
