The Aurelian Empire
1387 AB
Past the gleaming Alabaster Peaks that bisect the continent of Seraphix lies the great and powerful Aurelian Empire. Home to volatile politics, varied terrains, and dark secrets, the Empire's major territories are governed by it's Four Great Noble Houses. Spatengrove, controlled by House Tyrell is a smaller territory responsible for most of the Empire's textile and agricultural needs. Diamondfeld, the second largest of the territories is overseen by House Bellgrave, who rose to power after their former liege house, House Brutoris, led a failed rebellion against the crown during the War of Four Suits. Their moors are rich with precious metals as well as the diamond veins that give the territory its name.
The marshes and wetlands of Clovergarde are home to House d'Honaire, who were complicit in House Brutoris' bid for the crown. Clovergarde is steeped in arcane tradition and is bordered to the East by the Steorra Mountains where the reclusive Astromancers and Sternritters of Weltraumgard fortress reside. The Heartland, the largest of the territories is comprised of lush valleys, verdant forests, and is home to the seat of power in the Empire, the Capital City of Albion. For several centuries, the Rosewood dynasty united the Empire, and under the leadership of Empress Eunisia Rosewood, the Aurelian Empire has prospered.
However, relations between the four houses have always been strained, and following the War of Four Suits those ties are more tenuous than ever and the flames of new conflict have already begun to smolder. Coupled with ominous omens that portent events most terrible, a dark shadow has already been cast over the Aurelian Empire.
