Children of the Elder Pair – Odyrzid

Among all the sentient races of Qadal surviving in later ages, the Odyrzid are oldest. They were crafted by Dhoulgoum and Moriv during the First Feud as foot soldiers for Ácolitus in response to Qázun and his Viscari. The Daorhu and Odyrzid are somewhat similar in terms of height and build, but the Odyrzid have greater potential to physically differ than their counterparts. They can range from a bit taller than a Daorhu to staggering seven feet high in rare cases. They have always been an oddity, both in the eyes of the Eshan and mortals alike. None the less, these first beings proved to be skilled warriors and crafted weapons for themselves of stone that were enchanted with the Creator's power. They survived the worse of the First Feud, outliving the Viscari to become the foremost mortal race in Qadal. After the Divine Mandates established the laws of the mortal realm, the reconciled brothers created the Daorhu and forsook the Odyrzid. They were exiled to Othos so that they may live separately from their Daorhu kin and out of the eyes of the Ezontach. In their new home, the Odyrzid abandoned the worship of the Eshan and adopted a conscious atheism. In the place of their faith they poured heart and soul in technology and the pursuit of knowledge.   The later crafted Daorhu are cousins in creation to the Odyrzid, and great bitterness existed between them, as one was favored and the other was disdained.   Tragedy only befell them when the Aemar of early Vestidia, under the rule of Mauger the Mighty, waged war on the peaceful Odyrzid for their lands and wealth. All attempts to fight back were met with an ever-greater fury by the vindictive men. The years of conflict reached genocidal levels, leaving the Odyrzid with only the land in the far western mountains of Othos. They have lived there in tenuous peace ever since, keeping to themselves and no daring to interact often with other nations.
