Doctrine of Amikiras

Amikiras’s school of Vojûnic thought has existed and adapted long than any other in Qadal. It was born of the Ascension era in the -1500s, when Atûn first granted Vojûn upon his children and bid they spread across the world. The immediate and compelling concern of the time was how this new energy could be harnessed and regulated without lawlessness and violence. Atûn addressed the matter by using his Eshara to tighten the boundaries of Vojûn’s spread across the world, save for that which was drawn to the surface from the Voladûr. The measure helped stem the flow of Vojûn into the hands of other mortal races, but it failed to consider the Etayen themselves and Vojûn’s use among them. For this, the Council of Amikiras and Vishtal Dynasty, who in conjunction ruled Etal through most of its history, began to devise a standard doctrine regarding Vojûn. It rested upon three ‘pillars’ of theory and enforcement. First was a vigerous practice and research of Vojûn, allowing the Etayen to unlock every manner of its potential. Atûn himself assisted by conversing with Vojûnic nemeshari regarding the properties and nature of Vojûn. Second was a system of Vojûnic education capable of making evert Etayen, especially the Etûletal, proficient with Vojûn. The purpose was not only defense, but to also place Vojûn in the hands of intellectuals and craftsmen to explore its potential beyond the battlefield. Atûn organized this effort by personally training a cohort of nemeshari who would later traverse Etal and mentor the masses. Successive generations of Etayen thus became masters of Vojûn, imbuing it within every part of their lives. Third was a militant aggression against other mortals practicing Vojûn. This was most prevalent during the Ascension era, when Etayen soldiers hunted and crushed natives who strayed too close to Voladûr or drew from their power, but continued well into the Weeping Era. In all, the Doctrine of Amikiras enspouses a form of racially pure, culturally all-pervasive form of Vojûn which entails constant medition and research along with a militant protection of those secrets yet discovered.   In practice, the Doctrine of Amikiras successfully restricted widespread use of Vojûn throughout Qadal while bolstering the foundation of the Etayen realm with Vojûnic theory and practice. Within Etal, the introduction of Vojûn created a venerated social caste of experts, or technocrats, who were trained by   Atûn himself and thus masters of the craft. The reigning Vishtal dynasty utilized these newly minted Vojûnic nemeshari to spread those lessons among the Etayen- craftsmen, writers, thinkers, architects, mathematicians, astronomers, and others were all compelled to attend. Between -1500 and -1300, Vojûn penetrated and transformed every aspect of Etayen culture, so that every city glowed from every mind and stone with radient power and beauty. A number of the greatest Etayen nemeshari in Qadayen history appeared from these early generations- figures such as Beyond Etal and in the rest of Qadal, the Etayen viciously crushed native populations that dabbled in Vojûn or captured erected Voladûr. Indeed, in Everos, Othos, and Nevan there were sporadic ‘Vojûnic wars’ over the Voladûr, which native peoples correctly identified as the source of Etayen power. Entire cities were torched and whole populations were massacred to achieve this end. The violence was so great that the ancient Everosi took to calling the Etayen ‘Formar’ or people of the fire. Whatever the case, the Doctrine of Amikiras was critical for maintaining the prominent position of the Etayen throughout the Ascension era. An interesting byproduct, however, is that Vojûn took upon the aupices of mysticism, as natives believed it to be something beyond the divine powers of Eshara. They feared and hated it, yet coveted it. When Étunas collapsed in the year zero, the long centuries of repressed Vojûnic practice with pent up fury and desire during the Weeping Era, causing tremendous devastation.   Whilst being the earliest school of Vojûnic thought, the Doctrine of Amikiras is also the longest enduring. The philosophy’s three pillars remained unchanged throughout the Ascension era and under the careful guidance of Atûn and the Vishtal dynasty. In particular, the dynasty took interest in Vojûn when the Ascension era was waning and expansion was increasingly difficult. Military theory, technological advancement, and cultural change were all hallmarks of the Vojûnic Etayen realm, which became the most sophisticated in Qadal. Change only occurred upon great hardship. In the year zero, when Atûn died and Étunas collapsed, the Etayen withdrew into their only homeland. Colonization halted dead and the frontiers weakened. Within Etal, the Doctrine of Amikiras naturally adapted to match the decrease in militarization, thus increasing the domestic capacity of that power. The Etayen wished to rebuild the world that was lost to them rather than cross into the dark wilderness beyond. From around year zero to the Great Conflict of 2304, the Doctrine of Amikiras supported Etayen isolationism in Qadal. After the Great Conflict, however, the impertus shifted. The devastation wrought by the Vojûn unleashed against Nathrovas compelled the Etayen to reevaluate their practice. Vishtal rulers became more concerned with limiting the access of other mortals to Vojûn, and thus began enforcing the third pillar once again. This involved the remilitarization of Etayen society and a resumption of the long forgotten Vojûnic wars of old. From 2304 to 3400, this was the developing status quo. The final change came with the ascension of the Unain dynasty, led by Unain Thin’tak Sekoras. They, more than any Vishtal ruler before them, were ardent militarists. Stepping into the Wandering era, therefore, the Doctrine of Amikiras has changed to promote military practice and research before other expressions of Vojûn.
