Doctrine of Yor'shagon

In the year 1453 the first of the Axokari and Axodraharik settled themselves among the islands and western shores of Nevan. They were foreigners to that land and Qadal, being spawned from the distant mists of Voryndal by Orduza, the Axokri’hesma. It was a strange place, Nevan, yet not vastly different in geography to their native Axoggan- tropical, populated with white crags and gnarly jungles. Among all the lands of Qadal, they loved Nevan best and chose it to be their permanent home. Axodraharik warriors and the Axokari themselves waged war against the minions of the Qazunari who dwelt in the cursed forests upon the mainlands, driving them from the continent with sword and fire. Those wars lasted for years and appear within the annals of other repositories, yet for Vojûn’s sake the importance is their eventual victory. By 1500, the Apprentices of Qazun were cast out into distant Voryndal and their creations of malice were devastated and scattered into the wild. The Axodraharik established themselves as masters of the Neyasi mainland, and thus ushered in their empire. Tribes and petty kingdoms of the Aemar which occupied the coastal islands fell into line voluntarily or compelled by military force, one by one they capitulated and became provinces of the Axodraharik realm. However, one force complicated and challenged their dominion over the continent- Vojûn. It was a strange energy which was completely unknown by those in Voryndal but commanded immense power. Rebellious Aemar and other olûndi which settled themselves in small communities among the islands used Vojûn against the Axodraharik, killing many of them during the early years of conflict. The newly branded empire required an effective response, and under Yor’shagon the Axodraharik developed the early iterations of the Yor’shagon Vojûnic Doctrine.   The reigning Axodraharik approached Vojûn like other dilemmas such as slavery, politics, and economics- dividing the population into castes defined by race, economic status, and family. With this mentality, the Axodraharik sought to understand and master it through careful study and pragmatic utilization. However, only select individuals within the race could legally undertake that endeavor while all others were barred upon pain of death. These folk, known collectively as the Yomahdi or Benders of the World, were chosen by officials of Yor’shagon’s central government.   During days of Yor'shagon, the Axodraharik only members of special cadre.   In the later days of the empire, native Neyasi were allowed to enter this caste.   Once Yor’shagon fell, the republics allowed noble families to purchase entry into Vojûnic caste.
