During Weeping Era

Intellectually, the Weeping Era witnessed severe decline of dissemination and engagement. Survival and defense became the primary concerns of people whose homes were surrounded by rogue cesspools of Vojûnic energy and the monsters which grew from them.
With the death of their spiritual master, the Etayen withdrew from their colonial possessions. The Etûletal shut themselves within their homeland which the Voletal were assailed by their neighbors and the same manner of Vojûnic enemies.
The sole respite for intellegencia came from groups epitomized by the Edrastocel in Everos. Their story exists in greater detail elsewhere but suffice to offer some significance in this context.
Militarily, the constant warfare between petty kindgoms prompted a slew of novel innovations in the realm of artillery. Machines which, through torsion or counter-weights, could hurl massive projectiles of hewn stone became commonplace among the great hosts of the era.
