Karthuul

Aebaster began to create his chosen people from the waters of Qadal shortly after the First Feud. Unlike the works of Qazun, whose flesh was course, dark, and covered with fissures like deSert ground, the mortals of Aebaster were fair skinned creatures with hair and bodies of many shades. Those who dwelled in colder places were of lighter skin, while those cloSer to the warm waters of the Semyr possessed darker skin, and in that way, many of Aebaster’s creations were differentiated. In the earliest days, however, the mortals created by Aebaster were of greater power than their kin to follow. The first man created from water was Karthuul, who in time grew forth a cult of his memory.   The origins of Karthuul are shrouded by a haze of mystery, as are most episodes of the Awakening. It is believed by the worshippers of Karthuul that he was ‘birthed’ in the heart of Everos, where it was temperate and peaceful. He was an individual of extraordinary power, greater than 10 other men- or so the legends claim. Aebaster was pleased with his creation and began to form other Aemar from a similar mold. Those that followed were not as powerful, however, but bred in great numbers to make up for their personal weaknesses. As they arrived, Aebaster watched on with interest to see how these new breed Aemar would interact with Karthuul- the eldest creation of the eldest Eshan. Karthuul rejected them. He was disgusted by their weak mortal forms and weaker will. They desired to huddle together in villages for protection, while he chose a rugged individual existence. The first man built a home for himself in the shadow of the Aedúcarr Mountains, and made sport of hurting the beasts Qazun had created and released upon the world. In time, however, Aemarda spread across the heart of Everos, just as their numbers grew in Othos, Nevan, and others lands of Qadal. This expansion brought civilization to Karthuul’s doorstep, and he rejected them once again. He left Mehras and moved northward, far north. He wandered past the Balendorn mountains of Nemrohed to the land in which the Daorhu called home.
