Wisdom of the Eshan

When the Eshan had descended upon Qadal and Voryndal to create their chosen races, Ácolitus gave them a choice. They may reside in the mortal realm with their people or return to the Void and the celestial bodies, one or the other. No longer could the Eshan freely move between the two, for the Divine Mandates forbid direct tampering with mortals by such powerful beings. The vast majority of the Eshan, both among the Alor and Ebal, chose to return to the Void and be free of the object that caused the dreaded First Feud. Atûn, as he was known, chose to break from his siblings and remain in the mortal realm with the Etayen. This caused considerable trouble and general anger among the Eshan, but nothing could be changed about it- they had all made their choices. The other Eshan were left to passively obServe the machinations of Atûn, with nothing but their own Eshara to influence events in Qadal and Voryndal. The ramifications for this event were many and varied, but the most enduring for mortals was the knowledge that Atûn imparted upon the Etûletal regarding the Eshan, Ácolitus, the celestial bodies, and the workings of the universe itself. The information followed the currents of Etayen conquest during the reign of Étunas to reach the other peoples of the mortal realm.   The great and powerful master of Etal spoke to his children about the Eshan, who they are and their relationship with mortals. He explained that the Eshan were children born from the energy of the celestial bodies above, just as the Etayen themselves were born from his energy. Zil’dira the Letterbear, a masterful Etûletal historian and member of the Council of Amikiras, offered this interpretation of the exchange in the legendary verses of the Vyndals.   The Etayen were bewildered by this knowledge, for Atûn was the only Eshan they had ever laid eyes upon. Atûn responded that there were indeed others, but not in the mortal world like he existed. The other Eshan existed among the celestial bodies and watched warily from above.
