Years and mortal existence both pass with time, each slipping away into the endless void of Esha’s infinitesimal legacy. Who can remember every life and every moment if all bodies return to dust? What might be remembered and what fades to eternal obscurity? Mortal conceptions of history pale into miserable inadequacy when challenged by such questions. Only Ácolitus and the Eshan can recall the earliest days of existence, when the world was young and innocent.
Noted within these pages are innumerable happenings, both great and insignificant. This document, regardless of its magnitude, will remain an eternal testament to the immensity of history. The most noble endeavor this author might undertake is recording everything that appears worthy. Certain names and events will appear multiple times across these pages but be forewarned that nothing will be spoken of in equal detail twice. History will be explained with foremost attention where necessity dictates, and elsewhere be relegated to the position of footnote. One must keep a timeline handy when exploring these matters, as these sections do not recount the events but only significant concepts attached to said eras.
Sincere desire and humble execution will hopefully produce some measure of understanding within these pages regarding the broad history of Esha and its significant concepts. Matters of divinity, unnatural power, Eshanic races, and creation will feature. Departing from this section, the worthy reader must comprehend the complex and make sense of the illogical mesh of occurrences known as history. A cursory understanding is admirable, while true competency is a mark of great erudition.
The title of the book, the Vyndekira, originates from traditional Etayen linguistic roots. It means ‘the distant journey’ in their archaic tongue, which befits the preparation which the piece offers for those unfamiliar with the history of their world.
