Gordol Thorne
Captain of the Guard
Gordol Thorne is Captain of the Saltmarsh town guard.
Whilst he has lived in the town for almost 6 years, he was originally from the city of Keymouth, where he served for over 20 years in the Imperial Navy. He was personally asked to come to Saltmarsh and lead the guard by his old friend Eliander Fireborn.
Since arriving in town he has proven himself to be a fair, if somewhat by-the-books man, and most of the town are happy with his service. He always puts the safety and regard of the men under his command before his own, and is well-liked by the guards.
He is often found drinking in The Wicker Goat when not on duty, where he has a large, and as yet unpaid, tab.
Appearance and Mannerisms
Thorne is a large man, and has put on a great deal of weight since arriving in Saltmarsh. The hearty food, and relatively quiet life, at least compared to that of the Imperial Navy, mean he is not as active as he once was. His bald head is framed by large cream muttonchops which quiver as he talks. He does not suffer fools gladly.Notable Achievements
Gordol will tell tales of his service in the Imperial Navy with little encouragement, often exaggerating and embellishing his deeds with great gusto. If his tales are to be believed he once saved the life of First Sea Lord Khegdo Windprow himself!
