The Green Hand

The true story of the The Children of Rhalyf is more sinister and concerning than the popular myth.
Long ago, the three true children of Rhalyf were incredibly powerful aberrations that plagued the newly risen lands, dividing them up into three dominions of darkness. All who lived in those lands were in thrall to the siblings, and life was harsh and short.
Thymia Scarletscale was a medusa druid dedicated to encouraging nature to retake and destroy all civilization. Only the bloodline of their father could be allowed to survive.
Taag'thrith, was an illithid arcanist who schemed to create the most powerful magic in the world; a spell capable of trapping all humanoid creatures in a dream over which it and it alone held dominion.
Finally Ratakor, the Midnight Emperor, was a violent spirit creature whose aim was to give birth to an avatar of Vecna, the Whispered One.
The three children realised that they could not achieve their individual goals during their mortal lifespans, long-lived as they were. They combined their resources to form an organization known as the Green Hand and collectively attempted to ascend to a state of undeath.
Something went terribly wrong with their union, and the ritual they cast to achieve their ends somehow consumed them.
The Green Hand that exists now is a secret cult beholden to the idea of the rebirth of Rhalyf's children, looking for ways to ensure the return of the three siblings to the mortal plane.
There are some amongst the very few who know of the Green Hand that say this cult was born out of a particularly fanatical branch of the Scarlet Brotherhood.
