Mons-cat

Originally mountain lions warped by the Great Cataclysm, mons-cats are cruel hunters with fiery bodies.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Mons-cats retain the general morphology of a mountain lion. Their skin is completely transparent, leaving their skeletons and burning innards on full display.

Ecology and Habitats

Mons-cats still inhabit many of the same areas that mountain lions did, but they have a special preference for volcanoes, even when they have to travel miles to hunt their prey.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Mons-cats have similar nutritional needs to mountain lions, though they take great delight in hunting solely for the thrill of inflicting pain, and will do so even when they are not hungry.

Behaviour

Mons-cats are notable primarily for their inflated self-image. They demand respect from those around them and despise being treated as mere beasts. They also see ignators as obnoxious vermin and especially enjoy torturing them. Comparing one to an ignator is an easy way to infuriate it.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Most mons-cats are solitary, as mountain lions were. Those that hunt in groups are especially dangerous due to both their numbers and abilities that increase their teamwork, such as mindlink.

Average Intelligence

Mons-cats are as intelligent as humanoids and capable of understanding language as well as communicating through telepathy.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Mons-cats retain their strong sense of smell, and their fiery nature allows them to see in darkness. They also possess telepathy and the ability to link minds with each other.
