Otyugh

One of the most unappealing aberrations to emerge from the Great Cataclysm, otyughs are best known for their rancid stench, which is capable of sickening any creature nearby. They value the things that other species discard, and they keep bits of trash or other dubious items as treasures.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Otyughs are large quadrupedal creatures with reptilian skin. Their huge jaws make up the entirety of their heads, and they lack any other facial features. They have three tentacles, two with barbed ends and one covered in eyes.

Ecology and Habitats

Otyughs like to inhabit sewers, ditches, landfills, and anywhere else with a sufficiently rancid scent. They wallow in the trash and refuse in their layers in order to coat themselves in its stench.

Social Structure

Otyughs tend to be territorial, but they occasionally form loose groups. These groups have a vague ranking system, but no real organization.

Average Intelligence

Otyughs are smarter than the average beast, and capable of speech, but their intelligence is still far below the average humanoid.

Otyughs can see in complete darkness and have a fairly strong sense of smell.
