Lyen

Deity of Chance & Luck

Few deities are both exalted and reviled as much as Lyen, Goddess of Chance. A favorite of gamblers, travelers, bards and risktakers, Lyen is the one invoked upon chance meetings, coincidences, winning streaks, accidents, and random occurrences. To the majority of Bennoria, Lyen is simply the fickle goddess of luck who seems to bless as many as she curses. To the truly dedicated of her followers, however, she is far more subtle and profound. If Fate is the still pond, then Chance is the stone that makes the ripples. Lyen is the one who diverts Rembris' fate with that one thing in just the right place at just the right time.  She is the one who makes the horse lose it's shoe which causes an enemy army to arrive late enough for the defenders to be reinforced. She is the one responsible for a bird landing on a statue, causing it to fall on one who has escaped justice. It is her hand that brings down a tree to divert an entire river. Examples of her handiwork are all around if one only takes the time to see it.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The most common symbol for Lyen is a depiction of a hand rolling a set of Dice. It is common to see shrines to Lyen adorned with dandelions in the spring and summer. The flowers are a favorite due to the nature of their seeds spreading by the winds. Simpler iconography include dice, dandelions, feathers, and butterflies.

I think the portrait of Lyen fits the narrative in the article so well - has the expression of someone who is fun, but mischievous, that many will follow, but not necessarily a deity it would be wise to place your full trust in! I love the pace of the opening paragraph from its short sentences / use of full stops - it added a level of excitement that seems to fit the nature of Lyen really well. :)

I've toyed with the idea of making her more of a halfling but that face (Artbreeder is AMAZING) just really fits her in my head. She's by far one of the most interesting deities in the entire Pantheon.

I love Artbreeder too - you got a great result with Lyen; not sure what her expression indicates she's thinking, which is perfect for a Goddess of Chance. Plus, being able to age the portraits gives them longevity and realism as time moves on for the mortal characters in your world.
