Personal history

Slade's branch of the Winchester family is based in the Great Lakes region, and traces their lineage back to Elias Winchester, who brought the curse to the new world when he helped settle Jamestown in 1607. Slade's parents, both mortal, live in upstate New York and own a wildly successful real estate company. They were forced to give up Slade as an infant, when the curse first manifested. His vampiric elders brought Slade to his aunt Betsy Winchester, a powerful vampire herself, and charged her to raise the child. At first Betsy resented the boy, she only agreed to keep him out of fear of the elders, but over time she found herself becoming quite fond of Slade, and even grew to love him. Aunt Betsy took Slade to Chicago, where they lived for many years in her town house in Forest Glen, overlooking the Chicago River. Betsy made sure her charge received the finest education, enrolling him in at the prestigious Beacon Academy. As Slade got closer to his 16th birthday, and his curse began to mature, he learned how to dominate the minds of others and chaos ensued. Just for fun, Slade begin manipulating and seducing some of the more popular students in his class, turning them against each other. Rumors and paranoia gave way to violence and murder, resulting in multiple deaths and the closure of Beacon Academy. Slade managed to keep his dark secret safe from the mortal world, and avoid being directly implicated, but Aunt Betsy wisely decided it was time to relocate before anyone started asking questions. She knew of a small town in the Pacific Northwest where she could finish Slade's education, so she enrolled him in Saint Cyprian Academy and relocated them to Crescent Moon.

Sexuality

Slade is a pansexual top, and mind games are often more amusing to him then actual sexual activities. Slade derives great pleasure in the longing of others, but feels shame in his own longings, which seem like weakness to him.

Education

Slade was an honors student at Beacon Academy, with a full slate of extra curricular activities. He especially enjoyed drama club, chess club, and lacross.

Mental Trauma

Slade has spent his entire life alone, with no real friendships or meaningful relationships. He is desperate for real friends, who want him around because they like him, not because he's controlling them. Slade can't help but sabotage himself with his peers, and will inevitably hurt those close to him, but will also fight like hell to keep them safe from others and will try like hell to win back their love when they grow tired of his games.

Tactical, cunning, and quick witted, Slade excels at mind games and emotional manipulation.

Morality & Philosophy

Slade is an elitist, who is deeply convinced of his own superiority, and has little or no respect for those beneath him. Mortals, as far as he's concerned, exist to be dominated, and their lives are all but meaningless. When it comes to other supernatural creatures, Slade respects their power almost as much as he resents it, and will go to great lengths to establish dominance. Ideas like good and evil seem childish to Slade, who believes that might makes right, and the natural order of the world is chaos. That being said, he does view himself as the hero of his own story, and considers his own goals admirable and just.
