Yikara

Geography

The Yikara Region contains one large island to the south, one small island to the north, and a archipelago of small islands in between, and is located within The Harsh_Scale_Sea, a freshwater sea caused by the volcanic activity at Refuge. Beneath the islands, below the water, are the deepest and largest water caves and trenches in all the Bladelands.

Ecosystem

Yikara is a warm climate, home to rich jungles and wide rivers. The land within subject to numerous downpours throughout all seasons, each season affecting the rain differently, in all places but one The_Glistening_Volcanos. Yikara is in the only known freshwater sea, and has very localized aquatic life because of it. The waters are rich with exotic fish, Fae, Akada, and horrors, as Yikara also has the largest known water creatures, as well as predators of other seas that adapted to live in freshwater for short periods of time.

Ecosystem Cycles

Yikara follows The_Eye_Stone cycle of seasons, a mysterious artifact in the center of a large lake that spins in sync with the heartbeat of the Region. As such, there are six seasons in the region;

Season of The Sun's River

The first season of the region begins when The Eye Stone's segments align perfectly with the river that leads from the lake to the ocean, just as the sun shines over the tip of the temple to make the river's water, and the rest of the water in the Region, glimmer and bathe the lands in golden light. It has never rained on the first day of the season, nor has there ever been clouds blocking the sun's light. During this season, the rain is warm and often localized to small portions of the islands or ocean. Wildlife, during this season, are more docile, a side effect of drinking Glimmer Dew.
