REO Meatwagon
R.E.O. Meatwagon Inc. is a corporation that provides paramedical services, known for its rivalry with Trauma Team International.
During the 2020s, R.E.O. Meatwagon not only assisted the living but also dealt with corpses, since harvesting organs and cyberware was a lucrative business at the time. The company had an extensive clientele, but mostly on the "lower end of the economic scale" (in other words, gangs). R.E.O. Meatwagon was known for a practice called "meat jumping", where it ambushed corporate rivals on their way to assist their clients in order to steal them away, either alive or dead. Although such actions were illegal, they were extremely difficult to prove in court, and quickly led to an escalation of violence with Trauma Team.
R.E.O. Meatwagon continues to operate in the Time of the Red. While harvested cyberware still have resale value, advances in cloning technology have made replacement limbs and organs so affordable that organ harvesting is an obsolete practice. As a result, R.E.O. Meatwagon "meat jumping" focuses on stealing Trauma Team clients by showing up before they do, so that they can then charge exorbitant prices for medical treatment.
