Personal history
Layla was born the youngest of six children in a remote mountain village. Her family lived a life of poverty, constantly facing the challenges of starvation and the constant threat of abduction. Tragically, during a raid on their village, Layla's family was killed, leaving her orphaned and alone.
At the age of twelve, Layla's life took a fateful turn when she was sent to work as a castle maid for a seemingly kind nobleman. However, during the journey to the castle, the nobleman revealed his true intentions, attempting to assault Layla. In her moment of desperation, Soren, the leader of the Band of Raptors, appeared on horseback and intervened. Slicing off the nobleman's ear, Soren expressed his disdain for the man's cruel intentions and his belief in standing up against those who abuse their power.
In that critical moment, Soren extended his sword to Layla, encouraging her to defend herself and protect what mattered to her. Filled with a mix of fear and determination, Layla took hold of the sword and thrust it into the attacker's chest, ending his life. Though haunted by the experience of her first kill, Layla found solace and guidance in Soren, who showed her compassion and helped her find her strength.
With her past shattered and her chances of returning to her village destroyed, Layla made the decision to join Soren's Band of Raptors. She sought to channel her newfound resolve and fight alongside those who shared her belief in standing up against oppression and defending the innocent. Though she was initially reserved and distrusting of others, she eventually formed close bonds with her fellow mercenaries. From that moment forward, Layla dedicated herself to the Band of Raptors, embracing her role as a warrior and vowing to protect others instead of enduring suffering in silence.
