Genie

Overview

Genies, once revered as rare and powerful elemental beings, hailed from the elemental planes and wielded abilities second only to the Divine Glyphs . These majestic creatures were known for their command over the fundamental elements and their opulent lifestyles within grand palaces, attended by worshipful slaves. However, with the catastrophic event known as the 2nd Convergence , the genies vanished from the material plane, leaving behind only legends and tales of their former glory.

Creatures of the Elements

Genies embodied concentrated elemental power and possessed formidable wills, governing vast empires across the Northern Continent  from their lavish palaces. Their haughty demeanor and sense of entitlement stemmed from their unmatched power, challenging only by the divine glyphs and their own kind. Divided into four distinct types, each corresponding to an elemental affinity, genies wielded unparalleled mastery over their respective elements.

Efreeti

Masters of flame, the efreet exuded an aura of deception and cruelty, clad in silken caftans and adorned with brass and gold. Immune to fire, they commanded the power of magma and embers with ruthless efficiency, harboring deep-seated resentment towards those who dared to wrong them.

Marid

Hailing from the Elemental Plane of Water, the marid embodied the supremacy of their aquatic realm, manipulating water with unparalleled skill. Their fish-like appearance belied their regal demeanor, clad in vibrant attire and speaking with voices as soft as the sea breeze. Marids wielded water as both a weapon and a tool, commanding storms and tides with ease.

Djinni

Native to the Elemental Plane of Air, the djinni were beings of mischief and whimsy, with an affinity for comfort and luxury. Tall and muscular, they adorned themselves in shimmering silks and rode powerful whirlwinds through the sky. Djinni were known for their favorable attitude towards mortals and their mastery over wind and thunder.

Dao

Greedy and malicious, the dao hailed from the Elemental Plane of Earth, coveting wealth and power above all else. Adorned in jewelry crafted from precious gems, they reshaped the earth itself to expand their labyrinthine caverns and mazeworks. Dao cared little for the suffering of others, exploiting laborers and seeking treasure at any cost.

History

Once rulers of vast empires that spanned the northern continent, the genies disappeared with the cataclysmic event known as the Second Convergence. Their disappearance left behind a legacy of myths and legends, with the descendants of their enslaved subjects, the Genasi, inheriting their elemental heritage and carrying on their legacy in the material plane.
