Toral
Divine Rank: Deity
Alternate Names: -
Primary Authority: Combat
Secondary Authorities: Hunting, Survival, Nature, Honor, Family
His crowning achievement is defeating a dragon in single combat and partaking of its flesh, after which he was granted godhood.
Since his ascention toral could no longer appear personally in the material realms. He now helps those that call out his name and live by his tenets.
He is a member of the Pantheon of Haven.
Toral has a significant following in the north, his own region of origin, as well as in any rural communities across Haven.
Toral's priesthood is simple but honourable. They are one and all warrior-priests, and focus on keeping law and order if there is no war on. During wartime they can be found on both sides at the front of the charge, encouraging their fellow soldiers to greater heights.
No unnecessary riches. No houses, no jewelry, no gold or gems unless it is to venerate the gods. If money is necessary to achieve a greater purpose, so be it, but never is material wealth the goal.
Vow of Honor
Clerics are expected to behave themselves with honor. To keep their promises, to accept surrender from their enemies, to stand for the values of their god, until death if necessary.
Vow of Pride
Insults to Toral or his followers shall not be tolerated. They shall be avenged, either immediately or when the opportunity arises. Priests of Toral must also have Toral's name upon their lips as they charge into combat or as they partake in feasting.
Mandate of the Hunter
Priests of Toral must hunt an animal every weak, sacrifice half of it to Toral and turn the rest to some useful purpose, such as cooking its meat or turning its hide into clothing.
He is thus a god of procuring food for your family, either by getting it by hunting wild beasts or fighting your rival tribes over it. He is also a god of defending your community against outside threats, keeping the peace and keeping your honor.
His nation of origin, Pucraele has since become much more civilized and Toral has put a lot of effort into changing with his people.
He became a god of warriors, hunters and guards, rather than one of raiders and barbarians. He and his followers also became much more tolerant of magic users.
Still, Toral remains somewhat backwards and primal and remains primarily worshiped outside the larger cities.
