Looking out the window through the smog, I saw the sun hit the top of the wall in a rare moment. A corner intersection where a cylindrical silver structure now resides glinted in the brief light. Public Relations stated that it was a monitoring turret. The reality is that it is part of the tech that allows for trans-dimensional re-location that the Board has been pouring billions into these past few years. The idea is that they could transport pre-established quadrants to new colonies to increase expansion while leaving resource-deprived locations behind rapidly.

The PR data-stream portrayed Travel Corp as a savior of dying colonies. The idea was that Travel Corp could move a settlement from areas no longer suitable for survival while keeping its current infrastructure in place—buildings, farms, civilians - everything moveable by a click of a button.
In reality, Travel Corp has heavy investments in the core mining of moons and planets for rare metals. They also deal in rare species and anything else that turns a profit. They would harvest a planet and then leave with reckless abandon, and the company got its name from the number of corpses they left behind.

History

Travel Corp was founded in 2100 by the founder Sarah Day, who wanted to get into the stars and begin bringing rare resources back to Earth. With funding and time, Sarah and the CEOs that followed managed to develop several inter-stellar colonies that mined core metals out of moons and planets. They also found flora and fauna from distant worlds fetch a good price back on Earth.
Over time, they received a reputation for scalping planets and moons of their valuable resources and abandoning the settlements to head to the next. With every hop to the next moon or planet, they left behind the corpse of a once thriving colony.
In the wake of The Great Breach, many Travel Corp. employees perished, leaving splinter groups that were more gangs than Corporations. Over the past five years, most have been wiped out by competitive megacorporations seeking to reclaim the storehouses of resources Travel Corp had around The Quad.
