Devil's Rock Pile
Brimstone wreaths the pile of boulders called the Devil’s Rock Pile. Local kids dare each other to enter. During the winter it is warmer inside than the surrounding countryside. And it stinks – like brimstone. A path winds through the boulders to a cave where the sulfurous smoke emanates. Tales abound about the dangers of breathing the mist from the cave. Local Indian shamans sought visions by entering the cave.
