In terms of conventional warfare the dark elves have begun to stagnate whereas other cultures and societies have begun to adopt cannons and other firearms - due to an aging aristocracy stuck in their ways the dark elves remain committed to "traditional weapons"
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
The Dark Elves take slaves and have periodically raided other coastal areas along the Emerald Sea and Neptuna's Bed.
Common Taboos
Miscegenation is the highest taboo in dark elf society. So much so men are no longer permitted to serve in naval raids out of the concern they may "contaminate" dark elf heritage by the spread of their genes through the raping of other peoples.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Pale skin reflects ones social standing as one does not have to work outdoors. Silver hair is associated with wisdom, younger Dark Elves of higher standing are known to dye their hair or otherwise shave their head until it grays.

Gender Ideals
Clergy, skilled artisans and spell craft tend to be the domains of men in dark elf society. The Navy of the Dark Elves is entirely composed of women, and the army is predominately female.
