The demise of The Republic was the last stage in the fragmentation of the Bubble, ending pan system human government for over four hundred years, during which every colony world was self governing. Only with the rise of the Focus movement and a much smaller Solar Group in the 35th Century would larger interstellar structures start to play a role in human civilization once again.
