The Byrnish Empire

The Byrnish Empire is a predominantly human kingdom that dominates the southern half of Bengoth. Byrnish lands were previously under the control of a number of independent and frequently warring kingdoms that banded together to better repel Helleran invaders. The Byrnish Empire has excellent relations with the Bengothian Dwarves who reside in their clanholds under the mountains.

The Byrnish Council

Byrne is led by the Byrnish Council, a group of kings of Bengoth who appoint one of their number as the emperor once every seven years. Each of the kings of Bengoth has authority over the laws and management of their own lands, but must supply the Empire with a certain number of legions for mutual defense. There are currently seven seats on the Byrnish council, one for each kingdom:

• Emnabrag

Until recently, there was an eighth seat on the council for True King of Farholm.
