Golemancer
Homunculi are artificial beings created and produced by humans, based on the blueprints made by the previous inhabitants of The Pit. They can perform many different tasks depending on their programming and their shapes.
As it is easy to guess, there are some who find their existence uncanny or disgusting. But on the other hand, there are golemancers, people who either own or hire homunculi of other people to perform certain jobs. There are golemancers who lead construction companies, those who work in security, and even those who lead their homunculi in combat as mercenaries or soldiers.
License
To become a golemancer, one first has to get a license that will permit them to handle homunculi as their workers. To do so, one needs to pass the theoretical exam on their knowledge about homunculi, and a practical one where they have to prove they know how to maintain and lead them.Contracts
All golemancers are capable of making contracts with homunculi. Those contracts transfer partial ownership of the homunculus to the golemancer from their owner, or, in the case of free homunculi, let the homunculus keep their freedom. Both sides can set the conditions of the contract and in case of breaking them by golemancer, the homunculus is immediately released from working under them, while the golemancer guild is notified of the event.
Demand:
Homunculi construction teams are in high demand to help in building structures in areas that are either too risky or too dangerous for humans (main shaft of The Pit, areas highly concentrated with Elements).
Similarly, they're often hired as security or town guards as they tend not to get sleepy and some models have in-built night vision.

Legality
Unless a golemancer enters an area where the homunculi are banned or treated with hostility or decide to lead their homunculi to do something illegal, the job is completely legal.
