Pléimos system

Engulfed in an eternal turf war, the Pléimos system is plundged into a weird anarchy. Two powerful drug cartel fight each others and the Canticles' governor over the control of the two inhabited planets and four of the five orbital stations of the system. Stuck in a mexican standof, none of the belligerents can safely go on the offensive on one other, at the risk of both turning their full power against them. Murders and shootings with illegal firearms are daily occurences on the surface of Thetis and Koliopee, where the population is either on one side of the conflict or held hostage in the system.

A rich system

The Pléimos system is composed of 5 telluric planets and 3 gas giants. It was not inhabited before its colonization, though life has appeared on Thetis. Two planets were of interest for the first settlers, a human colony ship and the Kreel mining group Stellarock. The former settled on Thetis, which has an Earth-like atmosphere, and the latter on Koliopee, smaller but richer in precious resources, especially Hjabr, a crystal only present in rare places in the galaxy and researched for its hallucinogenic properties.

Pléimos

Classification: White dwarf
Diameter: 829,733 km

The origin of the star's name has been lost to history, probably the name of its discoverer or the word "white" in a Kreel dialect. The pale light of the main sequence star has been described as tantalizing by manyof its bystander, so much so that the windows of the spaceships residing in the systems are dimmer than usual.

Klopi

Distance to the star: 74,80 million km
Mean diameter: 7374 km

By far the smallest planet of the system, Klopi is a dense planet rotating around its star in less than a hundred Earth days. Its iron-rich mantle was prospected by Stellarock, however the rapid spin of the planet as well as the hostile condition at the surface forced the mining group to fall back. Sparse installations remains at its surface, lonely remains of a failed attempt.

Menethaus

Distance to the star:104.72 million km
Diameter: 19112 km

A gas dwarf with a blue tint, the planet is primarily made of hydrogen and helium. Its relative small volume compared to its mass hints that beneath the thick atmosphere there might be liquid water, though the proximity with the star makes it highly questionable. Other explanations involve either a dense rocky core or a peculiar resonance of the Song of Things or Bindings that would condensate the planet on itself.

Outside of several meteorological satellites and an abandoned scientific station, the planet is uninteresting and has not attracted much attention.

Thetis

Distance to the star: 314.16 million km
Diameter: 13310 km

A planet with earth-like conditions and blooming cities, ravaged by corruption and drug cartel wars.

Koliopee

Distance to the star: 1,032.24 million km
Diameter: ?

The surface of Koliopee is a desert where dust is occasionnally blown by the winds travelling its faint atmosphere. The low density of the planet cause the dust to fall down in very slowly, blurring the ground in a permanent dust fog. Many mining installations can be seen on the surface, the black steel of the constructs contrasting like small sickness dots on the surface.

Uh oh. Another unfinished article. Time really is wearing thin, isn't it?
