Eneos Percius

“The Chosen One” Eneos Percius (a.k.a. Percy)

Eneos was born from a haggler and a fool. On a seemingly normal day, a new man arrived to the mercantile, speaking of prophecies, of what’s to come, and of bountiful riches hoarded deep within a tower. The people of the Mercantile were fooled by his honeyed words, and his speech of how his seed would be the first step in fufilling it.

From the crowd, he chose a young sea elf as his candidate, claiming he had seen her in his dreams. She was beautiful as the finest sunset, and quite rich. The morning after they had slept together, she awoke alone, barren of even a note, her heirloom jewellery disappeared to the night. The man had gotten all he wanted, and left.

The ignorant fools on the raft still believed his stories, but his mother didn’t. She knew the truth, so she tried to make his childhood as difficult as possible for him. Eventually, she resorted to drinking, and she was finally exiled from the raft, after beating the “Child Chosen by Propecy” in front of one of the nobles.

After this, he was brought into a much richer family, and was treated like royalty. His new family was very nice to him, and treated him more like an individual than just “their saviour”. When he was old enough, he was immediately put into the higher of weapon training programs. He excelled in both the trident, and the net. But one day, tragedy struck.

The mercantile was attacked by the Fancies, a group of ravenous sea pirates. They shot both fire magic and cannonballs, and one landed far too well on its mark. A cannonball that was shot at a low concentration of gunpowder directly hit Eneos’ new mother, splattering her innards against the walls of the house. Everyone screamed as a curtain of blood enveloped every nook and cranny of the room. As everyone panicked, he fell to his knees, mortified.

Eventually, the guards managed to get the Fancies to leave, but the damage was already done. He picked up the cannonball that was soaked in gore, and held it with both his hands. He wiped it off, and carried it out of the house, leaving everyone else in a sad, sobbing state. Covered in blood, he walked across the raft, as people turned their heads to him, he just kept walking. He walked to the forge, and put it on the counter, and simply asked “How much to forge this?”

In the end, he, and everyone else on the mercantile still believe in the prophecy. He’s deranged, and think that people dying around him only mean that he’s closer to his goals. He doesn’t like death, no, but he still won’t let himself ever be hurt The was he was ever again.

He sees now as a time to prove that all those who have died for his sake won’t be for nothing. He won’t quit, as he’s already halfway there. Once he has his treasure, he’ll prove that the prophecy was true, and all the non-believers shall be punished.
