Kobolds

Kobolds are a small, reptilian race native to mountainous regions, where they carve cavern-towns into the rock and deep underground. Despite their bestial appearance, kobolds were not engineered. They have been immigrating into Imperial cities for hundreds of years, and their own settlements have a system of eons-old trade negotiations with the aasimar. Thus when the Caste system was formalised, kobolds were designated as peasantry and artisans rather than slaves.   Most kobolds live fully integrated into Celestial settlements, but some kobold towns survive in the mountains, where they live semi-autonomously. The machinery and ore produced by these towns mean the Empire has an interest in maintaining them, and they have become popular tourist destinations. Kobolds who live in these towns maintain a distinct culture and often look down upon integrated kobolds.  

Kobold Names

  Kobolds care little for complex names. Siblings might even have the same name if their parent can't think of a new one. Names are short, often superseded by nicknames; for example, a tailor might be known as 'Snips', or a tinker as 'Bolt.'    Examples: Hook, Vix, Snerk, Meena, Knives
